The history

The first youth tournament took place in October 2017. At that time it was still an U8 performance comparison with 10 teams. These included clubs such as SSV Reutlingen, Bayer Leverkusen and FC Cologne.

Since the tournament was a success, a new edition was held in October 2018, this time for the U9. This time, however, in tournament format and with 24 participating clubs. The forerunner of today’s Bentley Hohenzollern Cup.

The line-up of the tournament became increasingly high-profile. The really big names in German football now competed in Hechingen. Including Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, Hertha BSC Berlin and 1860 Munich. International teams also took part in increasing numbers. Rapid Vienna, Paris and Wacker Innsbruck.

The next edition was planned for 2020. For the first time, the Easter holidays were to serve as a fixed date for the tournament. However, the Corona pandemic prevented the tournament from taking place for over two years, so the next edition did not take place until 2022.

But the wait was worth it. The best field of participants in the tournament’s history has confirmed their attendance. Juventus Turin, Sparta Prague, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Schalke 04, VfB Stuttgart, Eintracht Frankfurt and many more.
